change

hey janice :)

i'm really happy that you are making your dreams come true. i know you have mixed feelings about it but always remember that CHANGE IS GOOD :)

keep in touch girl. i want to share with you an entry in the journal of one of my favorite writers, paulo coelho about change.

love, rhea

Change.
But start slowly, because direction is more
important than speed.
Sit in another chair, on the other side of the
table.
Later on, change tables.
When you go out, try to walk on the other side
of the street. Then
change your route, walk calmly down other streets,
observing closely the
places you pass by.
Take other buses. Change your wardrobe for a
while; give away your
old shoes and try to walk barefoot for a few days -
even if only at
home.
Take off a whole afternoon to stroll about
freely, listening to the
birds or the noise of the cars.
Open and shut the drawers and doors with your
left hand.
Sleep on the other side of the bed. Then try
sleeping in other
beds.
Watch other TV programs, read other books, live
other romances -
even of only in your imagination.
Sleep until later. Go to bed earlier.
Learn a new word a day.
Eat a little less, eat a little more, eat
differently; choose new
seasonings, new colors, things you have never dared
to experiment.
Lunch in other places, go to other restaurants,
order another kind
of drink and buy bread at another bakery.
Lunch earlier, have dinner later, or
vice-versa.
Try something new every day: a new side, a new
method, a new
flavor, a new way, a new pleasure, a new position.
Pick another market, another make of soap,
another toothpaste.
Take a bath at different times of the day.
Use pens with different colors.
Go and visit other places.
Love more and more and in different ways. Even
when you think that
the other will be frightened, suggest what you have
always dreamed about
doing when you make love.
Change your bag, your wallet, your suitcases,
buy new glasses,
write other poems.
Open an account in another bank, go to other
cinemas, other
hairdressers, other theaters, visit new museums.
Change. And think seriously of finding another
job, another
activity, work that is more like what you expect
from life, more
dignified, more human.
If you cannot find reasons to be free, invent
them: be creative.
And grab the chance to take a long, enjoyable
trip - preferably
without any destination.
Try new things. Change again. Make another
change. Experiment
something else.
You will certainly know better things and worse
things than those
you already know, but that does not matter. What
matters most is change,
movement, dynamism, energy.
Only what is dead does not change - and you are
alive.

Yehey!!! Ako rin, magsasaya! - Gwen

Janice!!! Yehey! I'm excited! I'll have a reason to go down to Chicago more often! :) I'll see you in two weeks, we're planning a trip down there to watch Cirque du Soleil. Let me know where in Chicago you'll be because I will be there in August and I WILL see you.

- gwenny

Janice? Coming to town? Whaattt??!!!! - Leng

Habang ang karamihan eh nalulungkot, ako naman, nagsasaya! BWAHAHAHAHA!

I'm sooooo excited to see you again, Janice! I can't wait!

Here's your to-do list:

1. Call me anytime lalo na pag nakarating ka na dito (make sure nasa phone mo ung number ko ah!)
2. Learn how to drive (aba! para mapuntahan mo rin ako noh!)
3. At ang pinakaimportante...magpaligaw ka na!!! Sige ka, di ko maka-count ung guest mo sa invitation ko. hahahaha!

See you soon, Janice!!!!

Bon Voyage! --> Michi

Dearest Janice,

Leaving again!!! It only means that alot of people will be really sad to see you go. You are one rare gem. It's not easy to find someone who has a big heart, smart, and funny (without even trying).

Now that you are about to start another new adventure, I wish you nothing but the best. There's no doubt that you'll be even more successful when you move to US.

Sayang indi na nasundan yung mga lunchout at dinner out natin sa Raffles. Dibale, pwede naman natin ituloy un, mapa US man or Pinas, or sa kung saan man sulok ng mundo. Balitaan mo kami pag may boylet ka na ha =)

I will miss you even more dear! Keep in touch girlfriend =)

luyvah.
Michi

Its a small world

When you left CS, I was wondering if we will meet again. But then we had plently of opportunities to meet. It is a small world and I am sure our paths will crosas again.

All the Best Janice, wherever you go!

Cheers
Lakshmi

Little Lulu walked away...

Once, it was about leaving Credit Suisse. Now, it is leaving Singapore. Next, don't tell me you're going to leave planet earth...hmp!
It's so sad to see you go. You're someone I just met here in Singapore though I already heard so much about you way back in Accenture Manila days. There is no awkwardness the first day I met you and you even taught me how to save 1$ by sneaking out canned drinks from the office to marina square during lunch. That is so KEWL!!! Only by Pinoys!!! And then we get to be on the same shift most of the times (Joy being alone) , going to the restroom and pantry and giggling all the way, how we got Binh upset with our noise, how I discovered the sparkle in your eyes when you met your office crush, how we help each other out on GPMs, how we try to laugh in our own small world without Jason, Theresa or Binh understanding what is so funny all of a sudden, and all the secret details that are not to be published in this blog. I will miss those times with you terribly.
I will miss you if I revisit HK, Macau and Korea and I will miss you more in my next trips since there will be no one I can make fun on anymore. Remember the sleeping pose inside the bus? That is the champion of all pictures and all the airports you've slept in will also be remembered. =)
You're a very special person and I don't know which planet you came from. You're so gullible, you're so naive, you're so immature and you're so funny. Don't think I can meet anybody else that would be a little bit like you.
I hope you still remember us here even if you find Mr Right there. Don't get an old man please! That's all for now. I will just write down the more sensitive messages in my card. =)

Happy birthday and ingats sa byahe ---Dennis

Ei Janice,

So sad to know that you're going so soon. Kung hindi ka pa nag-email, hindi ko nabalitaan. Take care sa pag-alis. May credit crunch ngayon dun. Hehehe...

'Wag rin masyadong serious sa work. Kailangan mo rin mag-enjoy, parang kulang ka nun...=p

Happy birthday and ingats sa byahe...=)

On my MFP list.. Sanjeev

I have said this earlier - You are on my MFP (Most Favourite Person) list..

Was just pondering on
Why does it take a minute to say hello
and forever to say goodbye?
Ok then all I have to say for the "Famous Last Words" section is.. (Not original, but I tried my best)

May you always have work for your hands to do..
May your pockets hold always a coin or two..
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane..
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain..
May the hand of a friend always be near you..
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Feel free to use my shoulder when you do need one.. skgupt@gmail.com

Have all the best life can ever offer, forever.. Cheers

Bye

Janice,

Didn't realize that you were going when we bumped into each other in the MRT. Actually I was in too much hurry.

All the best for your future. I am sure you will do well where ever you go!

Keep smiling!

regards
Anil

Chee Paine

Hi Janice,

I came to know you through your friends and had the honor of a dinner with you (thanks to Wena - who ran her life)

Without a doubt, with all the teasing and harassment you get from them, you are still patient and nice. That explains why you see all the posts here.

It came as a surprise that you are leaving friends here and moving on to see the world. However, you have also mentioned that you are looking to move overseas as well. So I guess, you make the choice to live your dreams!

For me, it has been nice knowing you and see a nice person among the coorporate troopers friends you have.

Take care and may you find pleasant surprises in this move.

Do update this blog :)

Top 10 Reasons Why I'm Happy To Get Rid of Janice! - from Joy

10 She loves to eat and seeing her enjoy her meal ruins my diet plans.
9 We encourage each other's taxi-when-lazy riding spree.
8 During parties, she's a spaghetti cooking champ, my kaldereta gathers dust.
7 She confuses me with her improvised lyrics.
6 My family loves her so much, it makes me jealous.
5 She's always off location in some exotic foreign country.
4 She'll look for a job for us in Chicago.
3 Free rent and lodging when we tour Chicago!
:
:
Janice and I met each other on the very first day we started working. A month after, she hands me a gift on my birthday. Who does that?
Later on, we both got assigned in Chicago for a year and became housemates. We seized the day and lived life every single day we can.
After Chicago, Janice explored opportunities elsewhere and convinced me to try Singapore CS. I was not interested but she egged on and even took care of revising my resume, submitting it to the recruiter until finally, out of so many candidates, the two of us were chosen. See, it’s her fault I'm in SG!
For the past 4 years, Janice and I have been sharing a roof, the same meals, same friends, and sometimes, even the same bed! We've been so inseparable that it's not very uncommon for people to get suspicious and ask if any of is a butch!
For the past few months, I've been telling myself over and over again that Janice's departure is such a good thing. It's perilous to remain friends with her. Besides, I don't know why Janice and I even jelled in the first place. We're complete opposites. She's kind, gentle and just simply nice. I'm none of those.
Who cares if we've been bestfriends for 8 years? She's been such a wacko anyways! Workaholic too! Good riddance!!!

I can go on with every single day she's here and attempt to convince myself that I need not be lonely she's leaving. I guess I need this to retain my sanity.

Her departure breaks my heart but I won't keep her from leaving. These are the two remaining reasons why I'm happy to get rid of her.

2 Janice, I know you've always wanted this. This is it! Your big dream has finally been conquered!!! Congratulations! I admire your strength, your passion, and courage to pursue your dreams. Gobble up! Leave nothing untouched. Seize the day! I can go on and on but I know you know what I mean. I read some of the blog entries (ooops…hehehe). They all say that you must quit being such a workaholic. I have faith in you. You're now in your zone. I'm sure 'life' will unfold naturally for you.

Janice, I'm way beyond excited . I wish you new friends, fantastic memories, and tons of stories to share. This blog has been created for you to share those stories with us. Make sure you fill it up and make us jealous!

Bon Voyage Sister and Friend!

P.S I think I missed the last reason. Last but not the least…

1 New boys for you to conquer!!! Yipeee!

Love,
Joy

Flying J - Joanne

You've always wanted to go to the US and I'm glad that you're flying there soon!
With all your ka-eklavoohan and ka-eklatan, please pack all good memories that we had together in your suitcase. "Singapore circa 2004 - 2005" would not have been that easy and fun without you and Joy as my housemates. I won't forget the days we spent looking for a house...buying our very first utensils at Ikea...unpacking our goodie bags from supermarket...endless chickahan during weekends...day-dreaming (of ahem) sa taxi cab....
I will surely miss you a lot but I know that you'll come across great friends in Chicago soon because you're a great friend yourself and you deserve a great company out there!

Bisitahin mo kami rito at bibisitahin ka namin dun!
Thanks for everything, sweet girl. I wish you all the best. Take care. Stay in touch. =)

Goodluck -- from Jepoy

Goodluck sa Windy City!!!

That was not for you Janice. I literally meant Goodluck sa Chicago, kelangan ng Chicago yun dahil malapit na sila i-invade ni fongjan!!! Wahahahahaha!

Anis (To Gavin it's Janice!)

Congrats Janice! You've realized our Chicago Dream and I am so proud and happy for you! Chicago is not a new place to you anymore but it might be a little tough as you adjust to yet another environment alone.  Please make sure that when you get there, you:

1. Learn to cook so don't eat fast food
2. Exercise at least 2x a week
3. Go to church
4. Go online to chat with me

I know you will have a great time there, and I wish we can visit you soon. I think I'm going to miss you!!! Too bad, Gavin just learned how to recognize you even on photos but don't worry I'll make sure Gavin won't forget you at least 2x a year (on his bday and christmas)!

Take care of yourself always! Remember the Casino Family in Singapore loves you dearly!

This Is Not A Goodbye - Ther

Change has always been a difficult one to handle.  But it is a refreshing breath of air when the change you want arrives at your doorstep.

'You're lucky!'

That's the sorely used cliche at moments like these.  But this is not a matter of luck.  It is a matter of you doing something to achieve what you want in life.  And I'm really happy for you that you are finally realizing one of your dreams.

This is not a goodbye though as I am sure we will see each other again.  After all, Chicago is one of my favorite cities and a close friend of mine is there (Tholits).  You're just giving me one more reason to like Chicago even more.  :)

I know you've got a wide circle of friends and extended families here in Singapore.  However, here's a few photos to remember your first family in Singapore....

First picture of the couple.  Awww!  How sweet!

In this event, this music comes to mind....

She
May be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She
May be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

My advise is to make use of this opportunity to enjoy life more and lessen your overtimes.  Remember that life happens only once.  It is short and you might not have another chance to do the things you want to do.   So don't tardy and give equal priority to your work and personal life.  You've heard it all before.  Now, do something about it!  New City, new outlook in life!

Good luck Janice on your new venture.  Here's hoping you'll find your niche in the Windy City.

Don't be a stranger.

Cease the day!

POOR SINGAPORE - Rochelle Mendenilla

Ops asan na naman si Jafong? Poland? Anapland? Belgium? Spain? Taiwan? UK? Don't work too hard, enjoy life! Take care of your health. I salute you! (rate on 5e's and 1p..the Executioner!)

To My Dearest Janice - from Trish

This is it!!!=) Another chapter of your life will soon start and I am very very excited for you. You have worked so hard for this and I am happy that finally this dream is coming true. I have to admit, I have my selfish reasons why I want you to stay (that is, I will miss you soooo much!), but I am so proud of you and what you have become and I know this American dream is something very dear to you.=)

Even though we will be countries...even continents away, I want to let you know that I am here for you. I treasure my friendship with you from the very moment I met you in Hsinchu, Taiwan (hahahaha!). You were my partner in crime back then and we were just so inseperable that I could not imagine a day not seeing or talking to you=) We took good care of each other and I will never forget that. You (and Joy and Joan=) ) even welcomed me to your home in Singapore when I had no place to stay.

Words cannot express my gratitude for having you as a friend. You are truly one of those beautiful people who are pure and good-hearted, always seeing things through a child's eyes. You are like an angel masquerading as a friend to many people, touching their lives and mine in so many beautiful ways. For everything you have shared with me...Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart=)

I wish you all the best as you embark on this journey. May God always grant your heart's deepest desires (about self, career, family life....love!!!!hehehe!). Always stay beautiful inside and out. I wish you strength, courage, happiness and a lot of love in every endeavor that you take.

Keep in touch okay?=)

I love you Janice. God bless always. =)

Love,
Trish

All the Best! -- Olive

Jafong!

Mami-miss kita! Kahit hindi naman tayo constantly nagkakasama, I really, really enjoyed those times na sabay tayong naglulunch or nagdidinner :-). I appreciate the fact that despite your very BUSY schedule, you still take time to meet with me and catch up. And what's so great about those meetings is that each time it happens, we simply pick up from we left off and it would seem like hindi naman tayo hindi nagkita nang matagal...

Well, wala namang masyadong pagbabago pag nasa Chicago ka na, you'll always be online naman eh di ba?! Mas madalas naman tayong nagkakausap sa chat kesa in person, hahahaha!

You take care of yourself there, tama si April mas magiging independent ka dun! Tandaan mo ang lesson from me ha - walang bagay sa mundong ito ang libre! Hindi ka dapat sobrang bait! Maraming abusado sa mundong ito who will always take that opportunity to take advantage of people na kasing bait mo...

Ingat ka, most of all, take care of your health. Don't abuse your body by working soooooo long hours!

Hope to see you again - soon!!!

Isn't she lovely?!? - Tegs

To my dearest Janice,

I’ve never met someone as pure of heart as you. And as much as I want to keep and protect you, I know that you can only be happier in Chicago :) Do you realize that we’ve known each other for 8 years?!? Although we’ve pretty much done our own thing and traveled everywhere, there has always been that comfort that we’re all still together. So you’ll join the rest of our friends in the US! I’m proud of you. I’m proud that you’ve put yourself out there and faced up to the challenge of being more than the great person that you already are.

I only have one wish for you – that is to really take god care of yourself. Pamper yourself this time. You’ve always done everything for your family, and when friends ask, I know that you do more than you can. Oh and there’s work too… I know how it is to be caught up with all these important things, but you are just as important.

So I will not say goodbye, because I’ll surely see you there :) This year has been really exciting for you!!! Great things happen to those who wait. This so applies to you in so many ways if you know what I mean :)

I love you, Janice.

XOXO (hehehe)

hi fongpagong, still remember this? St. Patrick's day will never be the same without your twin sister and the sidekicks, but i'm sure you will gain a new set of friends...because the joy is in your smile. take care always and stay nice and "lost" =)

A Brave New World - Jason Liu

All the best Janice on your newest and most exciting adventure (yet) in life!!

We all have faith that you will do well and succeed - please don't get consumed by work and take time out to enjoy life a little and make some new friends over there.

I still remember the first day when we did the interviews with you guys in ORL - the very beginning of the All-Star days in PS Prod Supp!

Remember where you've come from, take care, keep in touch and keep smiling! :-)

We'll Miss You ---- April

A big hug to your future in Chicago! Im posting this picture of our first place here in little Singapore so you will not forget the good time we had here. Its too many to even mention. In fact, I still reside in this condo upto this day, I have very very colorful memories here with Janice - all of them happy ones that makes me smile when I remember them.

With your cheerful spirit and positive attitude, I know you'll just do as well in Chicago, pero wala ng Uly don, nagiisa lang ako(You cant find a Uly there, theres only one of me in this world). hahaha

When I said happy memories, this is how happy we were .....(putek, it took me 7 times to cut and paste this pic here coz Im not sure if I wanted my face to be seen like this too...hahaha all for my friend Janice, she looked really happy here...happy.....hahaha)
